The International MIF Symposium is the only conference specifically dedicated to the biochemistry, biology, genetics, and pathophysiology of MIF-type cytokines and their receptors. MIF conferences are being held for over a decade. Initially started as an informal gathering of scientists with a main interest in MIF research at University College Dublin in 2006, MIF conferences have developed into a regular 18-months event that aims at adhoc-communicating cutting-edge discoveries in the field, discussing the mechanisms of the MIF family of proteins in disease pathology, discussing unresolved issues, challenges, and controversies, as well as considering translational approaches by MIF inhibition or pharmacologic augmentation. With a limited number of participants, it serves as a non-commercial, low-budget, periodic exchange platform for dedicated scientists in this field, both long-term MIF researchers as well as those entering the field more recently.
Thus and on behalf of the Scientific Organizing Committee and the Local Organizers, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th International MIF Conference to be held 3-6 October 2018 at Großhadern Campus of Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich, Germany.
