This year’s MIF Conference - The 9th International MIF Symposium - was hosted by the Bernhagen lab at ISD/LMU Großhadern Campus from Oct 3-6. It brought together 70 leading MIF scientists and junior researchers from all over the world. In an extensive 3-day program with some 35 lectures, high quality science and exciting novel data on the biology and pathophysiology of MIF proteins and their receptors were shared and discussed, covering a broad disease spectrum ranging from cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases to infectious diseases, inflammation and cancer, underscoring the significance of the MIF family network in physiology and disease. A highlight were the keynote and honorary lectures delivered by Professors John David (Harvard) and Professor Richard Bucala (Yale). MIF conferences are held every 18 months since 2006, with the 10th MIF Symposium to be held in Shanghai, China, in 2020..
